Metallic Seals & O-Rings
Our stainless hypodermic tubing, primarily 321 stainless steel, can be cut, formed and welded into circular O-rings that are used as seals for applications and conditions where non-metallic seals cannot be used due to temperature, pressure or environmental conditions that could cause outgassing or deterioration.
In the aerospace and chemical fields, high temp 321 stainless steel O-rings are utilized in semiconductors, hydraulic applications, jet aircraft components, and boilers, as well as in gas pipelines. 321SS is most commonly used for metallic seals and O-rings because the addition of titanium increases the resistance of the material to corrosion and fatigue at elevated temperatures.
