316LVM Stainless Steel Tubing
Melted in a vacuum furnace to reduce as many impurities as possible, this alloy is a derivative of the 316 stainless steel grade and is also low carbon, known as “L-grade”.
316 L-grade tubing exhibits reduced carbide precipitation for applications where the tubing will be welded during fabrication into a final product.
Often, the vacuum melt version is selected by customers with specific requirements for purity of the base metal in addition to maintaining a low carbon chemistry.
Its most common application is typically medical where surgical grade tubing is necessary.
